Staying with Gilbert was by far the best Airbnb decision I’ve made. When me and my partner arrived, Gilbert introduced himself and provided us with all the information we needed and left us to enjoy our stay in the Catskills-literally! The only time we saw Gilbert was when we first arrived, and when we left. So if you’re looking for a private, cozy, and beautiful place to stay, you found the right place. Gilbert was both readily available if needed and accommodating, even allowing us use of the garage during ice rain. Daily array of fresh pastries and orange juice are a wonderful addition to viewing beautiful wildlife straight from your window due to the intricate feeding system Gilbert has, not to mention deer in view from the hot tub. The Grouse House is one of the most amazing gems you will ever find the room is very private with a kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom and a private deck with a spectacular view of overlook mountain which is a great hike if you're into hiking. This is located in a perfect spot between the charming town of Woodstock and Saugerties. the grounds to this house are also very private and there is so much wildlife you will be amazed. There is also a large outdoor hotub very private and is wonderful to go in. The host Gilbert is such a nice guy i don't think you can find a nicer person than him and he has thought of every amenity as well to awesome pastries from the bakery to all the things you could need in the kitchenette. The Grouse House was amazing! We could not have picked a more perfect place after getting married. The room was so spacious with a two person Jacuzzi tub with perfect mood lighting. The hot tub was perfectly set up for easy use. There is even a outdoor shower next to the hot tub that has cold and hot water to clean off after or before use. Gilbert was one of the most caring and helpful people we have met through our stays. He truly takes so much pride in his place and it shows. Every morning we were given fresh pastries from local bakeries. We had plenty of privacy inside and outside. The location is very secluded with a beautiful view and a small walking trail. If you’re looking for a secluded, romantic couples place, pack your bags and head here. Gilbert has developed this excellent penthouse on his acreage. Sit out on your balcony or in the hot tub and enjoy the rural view. Birds, squirrels, deer, and the occasional black bear are around. The room is well equipped with everything you could need (including a whirlpool tub)….not luxurious, but very comfortable. Lots of excellent restaurants and shops nearby as well as ski lodges during the winter.

We stayed for the third time at Grouse House recently in July 2024. The location is beautiful and secluded, but also close to town, restaurants, and attractions. Gilbert drops off delicious pastries and juice for each morning. We saw lots of wildlife including deer, turkeys, and even a beautiful bear! Highly recommend.
