Customer Reviews
First time here after receiving a recommendation and I wasn't impressed by the lack of seating, but appreciated the free parking. With no place to seat inside or tables in front the Golden Plume to sit at it does not have a comfy, community feel nor seem inviting. The interior is lack lacker and a bit cramped as it was hard to have more then one or two people by the sliced pie area. I don't recall if they welcomed us, but they were great and sliced up a single slice of pie for us and didn't make us select from the already sliced pieces. That was a huge win for us. They were polite and patient while we determine which pie slices we would get. We tried the Bourbon Walnut pie, Almond Amaretto Chess, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. Our favorite was the Almond Amaretto Chess (flavor and
This bakery adventure was a happy accident as we had lunch next door & I couldn’t not come see what scrumptious items they had. First off, they were super friendly, and even though it was early afternoon they had a ton of variety still in the store (which does not happen often in RVA) anyway. We purchased an assortment of things and so far we’ve tried the sugar cookie & the butter pecan strawberry rhubarb pie, which was excellent. Do not hesitate to give them a try! Prices are fair & we will return when we’re in the area. Thanks y’all!
The pies on display looked delectable as soon as I stepped into the establishment. Picked up a banana cream pie, a peanut butter chocolate pie, and a quiche. Tried them over the course of a week and wasn’t impressed. The price also played a factor in my dissatisfaction, at $28 per pie I guess I just expected more.
Really cute place right as you come into town. Very impressed, eating one of my cookies now. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My cookies are awesome, but more importantly they weren't priced stupidly. Think I paid 1.76 each for big peanut butter and reece's cup ones. Really cute building and great selection, can see why they are so highly regarding (kid at DRoccos told me to check them out).
The Golden Plum is a charming spot with some truly standout offerings. Their Mexican Wedding Cake cookie is an absolute hit—perfectly crumbly and buttery. It’s the kind of treat you’ll want to come back for again and again. The overall service and atmosphere were great, making the visit enjoyable. However, the sweet potato pie fell short of expectations. It lacked the richness and depth of flavor that you’d hope for in such a classic dessert. With a little more attention to texture and seasoning, it could easily match the excellence of their other menu items. Still, The Golden Plum has plenty to love, and I look forward to seeing how they improve this dish.
