The food was very good overall, with generous portions and fair, moderate pricing. I ordered the Haddock Oscar ($26.99), which came as a large broiled haddock topped with crab meat, hollandaise sauce, asparagus, and breadcrumbs. The flavors were solid, but my only complaint was the pool of buttery oil at the bottom of the dish. Service was friendly and attentive, and portions across the board were impressive. We sat on the bar side, which was a bit noisy — but that’s to be expected. Overall, a good meal with strong value and a welcoming atmosphere.

We frequent this place see as though my mom lives in the area. Whenever I come from Milton, Massachusetts, I like to come and get some great seafood and awesome muscles a little neck.. to my surprise the muscles are now loaded with yellow peppers. They give it too much of a tangy flavor. I could barely taste any chorizo in it. We both ordered the seafood boil, substitute the rice for the potatoes.. the red Bliss potatoes were served hard and cold. They took it back with no problem. The beats have no flavor at all. I have had them before and love them. Mom had zucchini it was flavored really nice with garlic. The bread was impeccable with garlic lightly toasted, and butter. The seafood broiled casserole. Mom had a whole fillet of haddock underneath on top that came with shrimp and scallops

I’ve been coming to the Gateway for years and it’s very unfortunate but the food has slipped a lot. I never thought it was great but they used to have a banging burger and the fish n chips are fine. The burger I liked they took off the menu. Ah well, so I started ordering the kids fish n’ chips bc I don’t need an adult size. Never had an issue and then the last time I was there I was upcharged $3 for ordering the kids size. Never happened before and it won’t happen again bc I’m done. The menu is smaller, the portions are smaller, the food is mediocre at best. There are too many other places around to bother going back. It’s a shame bc we enjoyed the bartenders and trivia night. Seems they went cheap on everything while raising prices so that’s that.

I went in for lunch before work on Sunday 11/16. I arrived around 1:40pm and was seated right away in a corner near the bar. After looking over the menu and conversation I realized that it had been about ten minutes and nobody had stopped by the table. I gave them another five minutes to see if I would be acknowledged. Unfortunately nothing. I got up and walked out. The hostess on the way out smiled and told me to have a nice day. I stepped back in really quick to get the managers name, and she seemed a little nervous or confused. I told her it was for my review and she just waved at me. That was my first impression of this place. I know that nobody really cares and customer service isn’t what it used to be, but really? They couldn’t care less if I ever came back, so I won’t. I was really

Four stars for the food, five stars for the view and service ! I had baked mac and cheese, my son had the kids pizza and my mother had the quesadilla . Sitting on the back deck is such a beautiful view of the water
