Wareham Free Library

Miserable librarian who violates civil rights. The "outreach librarian" who works with older children targets children with disabilities. She had the audacity to tell me she targeted my disabled child to exclude from a program. Equal rights and treatment doesn't exist here: disabled people singled out and made to feel unwelcome. The director enables the librarian's behavior that most would lose a job over. She gave kids water balloons inside as they were leaving. My son got upset when his broke. Not only does she discriminate, but lacks common sense. She'd rather blame my child than admit to herself it was a bad idea. Also, tax and donation money is wasted. Have you ever told a bunch of toddlers or children to go sit down? It’s like hurting cats. Yet this story time was done with such joy and ease they all followed along the many activities! We started by watering plants, then gardening, washing fruit for snack, washing our hands. Reading books, singing songs. Learning sign language! Doing a craft! Truly a lovely experience. I’d recommend this for newborns to second graders. Can’t wait to come back! Also library wise: they have an extensive collection and are part of the SAILS which means you can order books from different location. I love using the Libby app for audible books!

Very good library for a little town like Wareham. People inside were also very helpful.

Lovely staff and a good selection of books. They were also kind enough to order a book that I was looking for that wasn't available in this location but in their sister branch to be sent to them so I could just pick it up.

Instead of double checking that I book that they thought wasn't returned was actually on the shelf and they forgot to scan it in. It's easier for the Wareham Free library staff to send out multiple emails threatening me and suspending my account. I had to go there on my own to find the book that was sitting on the shelf the whole time and show it to them. It was ridiculous awful experience literally could have taken them 30 seconds to double check that the book was actually on the shelves and they forgot to scan it in. Very classy establishment one star even lower if I could
