The Garnet Cafe

It says quite a bit about a place when the parking lot is completely full at 930 on a Thursday morning. We do have some pretty lucky timing though because we were able to walk in and sit right down, but shortly after EVERY SEAT was full. The staff was pleasant and quick, and we had some fresh coffee just as we were getting through the menu. I got their Sandpoint omelette which had some country style large chunks of hand and sausage with plenty of bacon, cheese, and onions as well. My buddy got their pork friend steak and was well pleased with it. Something that caught us both of guard but was a pleasant surprise was the slight lemon flavor added to their butter. I found this spot in Idaho on accident. Thank the universe for happy accidents. Very welcoming, was seated immediately but people began to come in after 9am and it got busy. I understand why. I ordered a scramble that was so fresh hot and delicious. It was great. I am a southern gravy lady through and through. It a breakfast staple for me. They have what seems like the creamiest gravy I've ever had. It was good, I still prefer bacon grease based southern gravy, lol, but man! They're gravy so silky smooth! I was questioning what dairy based they used. It was good! Service was great. Coffe was good. I will definitely be returning!

The atmosphere has that perfect cozy diner vibe, full of warmth and buzzing energy, making it an ideal spot to settle in and enjoy a great meal. We ordered the Bonner Omelet with bacon on the side, and everything was perfectly cooked. The homemade jam and lemon curd are absolute standouts—bright, flavorful, and clearly made with love. I’ve also tried their spaghetti and eggs, and while it may sound unusual, it’s shockingly delicious and has quickly become a favorite. What really elevates the experience is the people. This place is fantastic!! We had the vegan selection of beans, veggie hash, and sausages. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients, the service was fast, and the staff were super friendly. And the interiors have a spunk that'll bring a smile your face! We were helped by Krista, who was very polite and helpful.
