The Franklin Lounge

Our server, Walter, could not have been more gracious and attentive. This place is so great! Dark, classy, with inventive cocktails, glitzy chandeliers, jazzy understated music, and that antipasto salad for $17 was enough to serve 2-3 people. The margherita pizza was really delicious! And we are admittedly snobby about our New Haven pizza barometer. Loved this place! We will be back!

Please don't be scared off by the per person price. It was my birthday and my older brother was picking up the tab.Ha! The overly used expression "Hidden Gem" works perfectly for the Franklin Lounge. It has it's own private entrance to the right and connected to Sasso's Coal Fired Pizza, in downtown Torrington, Connecticut. It is the sublime "Speakeasy" of our cherished past and just a short drive away. You enter a warm vestibule and tap a small panel for entry. A host will then escort you into a beautiful intimate dining room, with high tin ceilings, ornate cornice and exquisite raised paned walls. Low lighting and quiet music complete your initial experience. We were welcomed by our waiter/server, Walter. He was a perfect addition to the evening. Walter was attentive, friendly and quick

I celebrated my birthday at the Franklin Lounge, and I must say everything was outstanding!!! From the moment we walked in, to the drinks the food the service, absolutely incredible! Walter and the staff were extremely accommodating for our event and I cannot wait to come back! I love this place!

The Franklin Lounge gives city vibes and is definitely unique to the area. Walter and the staff are knowledgeable, know the menu forwards and backwards and can make great recommendations. We had a vegetarian in our group and there were plenty of options for her. It is pricey, but everything is so well done and the experience makes it worth it. Bonus-we popped right over to Sasso's to finish out our night with some music and dancing. The Franklin is a great addition to downtown.

We made a last-minute decision to come here on a whim, and we're so glad we did! The setting is intimate, and both the drinks and food were phenomenal. We ordered several tapas-style dishes, and every single one was delicious. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town!
