The Drake Bar and Kitchen

The Drake was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely exceptional, truly the best meal I’ve ever had in VT, and hands down the best duck and burger I’ve ever had anywhere. The service matched the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the personal touches were everywhere, from the décor to the homemade dressings and sauces. We ordered a little of everything and wished we had room for more. We live over 3 hours away, and we’d make the drive again just for this meal. Chef and owner Eban was so friendly and warm, and his staff was just as wonderful — special shoutout to Fiona and Jess for making the experience unforgettable. They also offer a thoughtful program where guests can purchase $10 gift cards for community members, which speaks volumes about their values. 11

The Drake served EXCELLENT poutine and good burgers! On our visit to Vermont we stopped at The Drake Bar and Kitchen for dinner on our first night. The Drake is a comfortable little restaurant and was somewhat busy during our visit, but we had no wait at all for a table and our service was excellent and reasonably fast. We each ordered the Ethan Allen burger without a side and split the duck fat poutine. The burgers were cooked perfectly and had good flavor, but the star of the show on this visit was the poutine! Great restaurant. I would definitely eat here again! The Ethan Allen Burger was very good. The Truffle Fries were really good. The Poutine Fries were very good! Service was decent and atmosphere was OK. If you are in the area, stop here and eat. The tap water is full flavor (tasted like minerals), so drink a beer!

I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday...I had never been to The Drake, and decided to give it a try based on its ratings. It was wonderful! The little bistro table we were given was charming and next to the bar area, which was fun and full of the same ambience as the rest of the restaurant. The Show Girl Spritzer was the specialty cocktail of the evening (a little nod to Swifties!); it was delicious! The butternut squash poutine was amazing, as was the bean and goat burger! We will definitely return and recommend!

We were passing through and chose The Drake Bar and Kitchen for their reviews… and it definitely lived up to their ratings and exceeded our expectations! The staff were all incredible, especially Amanda. They even seated us near closing time with no hesitation. They never made us feel rushed and ensured we had the greatest experience.
