The Dock on Wallenpaupack

Keep in mind when you come to this place: you have to be fully dressed, even though it’s right on the beach. Adults in our group were fine, but the kids only had long-sleeve sun shirts and no shorts. There was no sign anywhere saying that a dress code was required, and it almost turned into a conflict when they wanted to turn us away. Thankfully, we managed to cover the kids’ legs with our own shirts, but it definitely should be posted clearly for guests – especially at a beachside spot. As for the service, the staff were young and worked fine overall, though the food took a long time to arrive. The cocktails were great – strong, well-made, and not watered down. But the food itself was disappointing. I’d give it a 3 out of 5. The seafood dishes, like the shrimp tacos, didn’t really taste

So I'll explain my rating. The food I rated a four only because the desserts were only pies. Pumpkin, Apple and Pecan I believe. I'm not a pie person and would of loved something other than pie. But the main course was absolutely delicious and tasted just like home!! The service could use more wait staff. Our particular server was non existent and we needed to ask others walking by just for a refresher on our drinks. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect! I really enjoyed my thanksgiving at the Dock on Wallenpaupak with the exception of a few minor things.

Food is very good here and there is a nice view too. I just feel like a steak meal should come with a small salad, or bread for the table. I guess that's gone the way of the dodo in most restaurants. Oh well......with that being said, this is a very nice place to have a meal. I'll be back.

My experience at Dock on Wallenpaupack was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who made us feel so welcome. The restaurant itself is spotless, and the beautiful views of the lake are simply breathtaking – the perfect backdrop for a meal. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was expertly prepared and full of flavor. Combined with the excellent service, Dock on Wallenpaupack truly offers a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommend!

Do not go here under any circumstances. I got the feeling everyone was trying their best but oh boy they need help. Despite the restaurant being empty we were quoted a long wait, before we could even answer they said “a lot of our cooks called out”. We waited and I regret every bit of it. It’s resort priced food, paying 18$ for a 12 piece of boneless chicken bites I can accept but they weren’t even hot and it only gets worse from here. We order chips and the spinach dip. Maybe 3-4 of the chips had seasoning on them but the rest were completely plain. Didn’t even have salt. We asked for salt and we had to ask 4 people before they could even find a salt shaker, which they took by asking someone else if they were done with it. Does this place not have enough salt shakers?
