The Difference Baker

I love that there are allergy friendly options. The oatmeal cream pies and cookies are delightful, as well as their “pop tarts.” I have found the donuts to be hit or miss. We have tried many things here and plan to keep coming back!

This is my go-to place for vegan desserts! There’s a great variety and they are all delicious!! I highly recommend the s’mores PopTart. The scrumptious bakery aromas draw you in all the way from the parking lot. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I went to them to make custom vegan cookies for my husband’s retirement from the Air Force. They were able to print images on edible paper to place on the cookies. They were a hit at the party!

My daughter just celebrated her 5th birthday and 2 weeks prior to her party her normal baker (in Richmond) cancelled on us. We were then panicking because our daughter has a few of the top 9 allergens (severe) but we recommended by our community page to “The Difference Baker” here locally. They were phenomenal in responding especially with it being last minute and so close to the holidays. We are so grateful! The cupcakes look exactly like the photo I sent in. The taste of these cupcakes were so good. I 100% recommend using “The Difference Baker”.

We were so happy to find this place while visiting the area. So many great options! We had breakfast sandwiches, a pretzel dog, chicken tenders, several flavors of donuts and several different drinks. Everything was terrific. I really enjoyed the cold brew coffee. The service here really stood out as top notch. They were really fantastic.

What a fantastic place. Many, many truly gluten-free, dairy-free, and some even sugar-free options, both sweet and savory. Highly recommend everything we tried, to include the mini cheesecakes—sweetened with monk fruit! the breakfast sandwiches, which were so flavorful, and the gluten-free donut my partner had. He made a point to tell me it was, “the best donut he’d ever had, gluten or otherwise.” And he used to work at a donut shop! The staff is so friendly, and it was wonderful to connect over food allergy issues. In some—if not all—cases, the staff has direct experience with this and knows what a challenge managing these can be for families.
