The Breezeway

Nestled in a beautiful and bustling shopping area in Opelika, The Breezeway boasts a wonderfully convenient location perfect for a lunch break. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out – the staff was genuinely friendly and patiently answered all my questions, making me feel very welcome. The menu offers classic American lunch fare. I opted for the grilled chicken fingers and one of their specialty sandwiches. Both dishes were exactly what I was craving – satisfying, well-prepared, and they truly hit the spot. If you find yourself in Opelika looking for a reliable place for a quick, easy, and pleasant lunch experience, The Breezeway definitely fits the bill.

As much as I would love to say good things about this place I just can’t. 1. The food was basic and over priced. 2. The restaurant is so out dated and not clean it almost made me leave but we had already ordered. 3. They can’t even give condiments with out charging. 4. The food was nothing to rave about small chicken tenders and dry fry’s and the wings were ok but that’s about it. My opinion is go here with low expectations and expect below decent food and don’t expect it to be cheap either we had 4 people and it cost us about $60 for fry’s and wings. Yes we ate our food but I just had better expectations for this place based off what I read and was very disappointed all together.

Their chicken was delicious, especially the grilled. My husband rates places by their coleslaw and this one was a winner! The staff cared very much about our satisfaction and seemed to take pride in the restaurant.

I can’t believe I’ve never eaten at The Breezeway until today. What a hidden gem! Didn’t know they’ve been around for almost 3 decades in Opelika!! The owner found out we’d never been there before and wanted us to sample their signature chicken fingers and brought out fried and grilled ones for all of us. OMG! I have honestly never tasted a piece of chicken that delicious!! It was so juicy and tender and seasoned to perfection! I can’t believe I was actually raving over a chicken tender! It was absolutely, insanely delicious! We also had fried shrimp, fried green beans, salads and sandwiches. It was all amazing. The owner, Gena, was a sweetheart! She says that we must try the catfish when we come back. And the bread pudding. It’s a date and can’t wait to go back!

Salad was great today! Staff is always so friendly!
