The Border Restaurant

Found another hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Windsor, Colorado. The Border Restaurant is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Yea of course you can get traditional tex mex inspired food and its really good. Especially, the combo platter pictured with a crispy chilli rellano, beef chimichanga, beef enchilada! You might be wondering, what is that delicious, heavenly, cast iron branded roll??? Its a homemade krautburger and it is OUTSTANDING!!! I know, I know I was surprised to find it here too but its a real treat and you gotta try it! Also had the shrimp basket and clam chowder and it was excellent and since we are already way outside the box I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and it was worth writting home about. Great food, Margaritas and guacamole are on point Priced just right. The owner Eric is a great conversationalist and loves his restaurant. A must if you like great Mexican food.

Awesome service and we love the food here. We got steak fajitas and chicken/beef enchiladas both were so good!!

Reasonable prices. Great service. Every time we come here, it’s on point. Everyone is friendly and cares. Nice little place! Best burgers are a well-guarded secret, until now!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! From the delicious queso and warm chips to the delectable hot beef sandwich gravy. Don't get me started about the best fried ice cream we've had in years! Service was top notch, delivered with a smile. Well worth the drive from Loveland!
