The Blue Door

So my wife and I chose this location because we wanted a place that was peaceful and with a view. We needed a place dog friendly and this was it. We have two Goldens that have never traveled and let me tell you they didn’t want to come back lol. Waking up every morning to drink coffee on the porch with our dogs was amazing. We even say deers walking around the area. We were excited and the dogs were calm. The place was well equipped with the necessary items we needed to accommodate us and the dogs. From dog toys to sofa blankets. The rooms were perfect for my wife and I. Very cozy. The two things I wish we would have done, that we will do next time we go back to the same location, is use the grill and the fire pit. The town close by had amazing food and is very dog friendly. Where do I begin? I can go on and on about how wonderful our stay at The Blue Door was this past weekend, but I’ll keep it short and sweet: 1) If you’re looking for a home away from home, this is literally that place. Every corner, crevice and countertop is thoughtfully executed. Kate is wonderfully keen to attention to detail, so that as soon as you step foot in, you feel both comfortable and cozy contemporaneously. 2) Location! During our stay, we were able to visit the Smoky Mountains and Black Mountain, NC. Plenty of options to explore as well within the town limits. (We had breakfast at Kountry Kitchen, and it did not disappoint!) 3. Dog friendly! And the host makes it a point to include your pup in your vacation days. Such a sweet gesture!
