- one of our fav place- It’s kind of funny that I’ve never written a review for this place, even though we’ve been here countless times. It’s always busy around mealtimes, but luckily there are plenty of seats, and we rarely have to wait. We also order takeout from here pretty often. For our most recent order, we got two personal combos (main + appetizer + drink) through a Chinese app, which frequently has discounts. I’m a big fan of their takeout containers—they keep the noodles and soup nicely separated. The takeout bag is super sturdy, and the popcorn chicken has just the right amount of spice to really hit the spot. That said, I’d still recommend dining in, because the food is easily about three times better. I also think the portion of popcorn chicken is more generous when you dine
Ordered the original Crossing-the-Bridge rice noodles. Tried several broths (green peppercorn, original, tomato) and they all taste somewhat pre-made, with a noticeable MSG-heavy and salty profile. Fine for eating the noodles, but not a broth you’d want to drink. The rice noodles are thinner with average chew. Toppings usually include around ten items, and the meat portion is fairly generous. Personal ranking: Golden beef = Green peppercorn ≥ Original > Tomato beef brisket > Kimchi beef Overall, the flavor isn’t outstanding for crossing-the-bridge noodles, but it’s consistent, reasonably priced, and predictable. Favorite sides are the plum sweet potato fries; fried milk is decent too.
The taste is delicious, and it's a great experience. You can add whatever you want to your meal. The soup base is very rich and I love it. I also like the egg waffles, which are very crispy and have a strong milky flavor. The fruit tea is also very refreshing and delicious with rice noodles. I recommend trying their spicy rice noodles, which are very delicious! I will go back again. There is a lunch combo at noon, which is very cost-effective!
The hot and sour noodle soup was a good portion. The soup tasted a bit artificial at first, but you get used to it and it was OK. It comes with three slices of beef and a chicken wing (the wing is kind of strange). The noodle was smooth, I enjoyed it. The beef tripe appetizer was a good portion too. It’s not much flavors. I put them in the soup and it tasted great.
Appetizers weren't too good, in my opinion. We got the popcorn chicken and seaweed salad. I don't think anyone at the table liked it. The spicy beef brisket soup was good, I didn't expect the brisket to be like... braised beef you'd find in a stew. We also got spicy pork chop soup and the original pork bone soup, which were also just okay.
