Taylorville Public Library

Live in a small town they say… it’s great they say. Unless you live in a town so small that it doesn’t have a public library, and you go to the next closest town that is IN YOUR OWN COUNTY and they want you to pay $70 a year for it.. I could understand if I had another option but was choosing to come here. But I don’t.

Great library to get books and movies to enjoy. They are very friendly and helpful. I love all the staff they make it very easy for me to come in the library and get a book or a DVD. It’s good to know I’ve got a place to go since I’m disabled and can’t do much, but read or watch a DVD. Thanks lady’s I love the atmosphere you bring to the place. You do such a great job and hope that others feel the same.

Great place to get those old outdated Faxes to the old outdated offices of ( pick any Illinois Government office here ) a buck a page. Kudos to the nice Lady behind the counter and her Mom. We had a blast. Durt5 out.

Very friendly and personal. Staff recognize me everytime i visit. Selection of newly released books are upon display. I did dock one star because i find that their shelving system difficult to find books. I mean in theory it seems simple. Large print verses regular. Then its based on authors last name but every darn time i try to find a book im just dumbstruck why i cant find what im looking for. Also they have an online search database called share and you cant get books from other libraries. As well as having an online portal for library books to read on net gallery. I find most of what i am looking for 90 percent of the time.

The staff here are very helpful and silent like an elite task force. Especially Morgan. 🫶🏻 Thank you
