Tate's Italian Kitchen

A spontaneous stop for an early dinner turned into a great experience! We came by boat and sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome, the food was fantastic and as we walked out, we asked the bartender if she would be there next week and she said yes, every night because she owned the restaurant. I should also mention that the espresso martinis were fantastic as well.

Tates is fantastic… Not pretentious or unassuming, but the food quality can’t be beat. We eat out all the time, and Tates has worked its way into our regular rotation. Hard to do with so many good options in the West Bay… But it should definitely be on your list. And the owner, Karen, is wonderful!

The owner noticed me outside taking photos next door and invited me into her establishment also. Very accommodating and generous with her space and access. I have actually eaten at this establishment in years gone by and found it delicious, but the details elude me. 5 stars on friendliness and service from all I encountered.

I cannot say enough good things about Tate's, their staff, and the area. During the pandemic my family did its best to support local restaurants with take out each Friday. We kept returning to Tate's and have done so regularly for the last five years. The menu offers what is fresh and in season, and the bread homemade next door at Mickey's (pizza - don't miss that, either). The bar is a wonderful perch for dinner and cocktails, and the conversation is always lively. No matter how many times I have made my great grandmother's bolognese, Tate's is incredible. Wonderful homemade desserts as well. I have sent so many friends and neighbors here. Don't miss it!
