Tandoor Indian Restaurant

As someone who has seen many restaurants come and go in the area, this is the one that has (by far) been my go to anytime I want a good meal. The service is excellent, some of the nicest people I have gotten the chance to meet. They’re happy to answer any questions, make accommodations, and make the meal experience as satisfying as possible. The food is otherworldly, the flavor is astounding. I have gotten this for lunch, dinner with friends and family, and a quick takeout. I cannot speak highly of how amazing this spot is, truly the best restaurant and food in Chapel Hill.

Temporarily closed for renovations, according to a banner at the entrance. Best Indian in Chapel Hill, for the price. It's hole in the wall with very little ambiance and a funky bathroom, which I try to not use. But the family who runs it is delightfully friendly, and the food is generous and very tasty. Best deal on samosas and the weekday lunch buffet.

For under $12, you don't typically find a decent buffet, but this one was good for a quick lunch. There are mostly chicken and vegetable options. Naan served at the table was very good. On the buffet I tried a variety of dishes. The chicken Tikka was the best dish I had that day. Good flavor, great sauce, and seemed to have good quality chicken. The chicken curry wasn't as flavorful as I expected. Pretty one dimensional. It could really use some heat. Tandoori chicken was also bland and not hot, temperature wise. I tried a few of the vegetable stews. They were all fine. Take out from here may be a better option, but for a quick and cheap lunch, it worked. The location is unassuming, at best. The food was incredible! I have been searching for a satisfying Indian food for years. This restaurant hit all the buttons. The service was kind and efficient, while the environment kept you at peace to enjoy your meal.

First time here and I absolutely loved the place! Their lunch buffet is literally the best indian food deal in the Chapel Hill area! Highly cost-effective, there are quite a variety of options, especially in the vegetarian section, both suited with rice and naan. Crispy fresh-fried pakodas and golab jamuns were the cherry on top. The only thing is you have to come quite early for the buffet (11am - 2pm, which is quite early for lunch, atleast for me). The ambience is also pleasant and would the decor keeps reminding you of the restaurants in India. Highly recommended, would definitely visit again!
