Customer Reviews
5 stars for customer service by the gentlemen (did not catch his name) who served me on 2/28 afternoon. Food was absolutely delicious and very affordable considering the area. Kudos for the tacos tortillas being gluten free too. Great spot to go to if you want to enjoy La Jolla’s village area but not eat at a high end sit down restaurant.
I decided to try Taco Time Cantina shortly after they opened. I met one of the owners. I think his name is Dino. He and his team were extremely friendly. I tried four different tacos for lunch. In terms of the quality of the tacos and their flavor the only thing I can think of is an analogy to a movie that came out many many years ago called Ratatouille. If you saw the movie, I’m sure you remember the scene where the food critic takes one little bite of the ratatouille that they serve him and he is mentally transported to his childhood when he used to enjoy the ratatouille his mom used to cook. For me, it was a similar experience, except I was mentally transported to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where I had excellent tacos like the ones at Taco Time. The ingredients are super fresh, high
We ordered 2 filet mignon tacos, 1 baja fish, 1 carne asada. All were good! Filet mignon tacos are $$ but I think worth it- the meat is nicely seasoned and cooked. Also the tacos were very filling. I would recommend the Baja fish taco the most for price and quality.
I popped in to Taco Time for my very first visit on Tuesday at about 1 pm. There was no line and I was greeted immediately. I ordered two chicken and one Baja fish taco. I ordered them to go because I was on a time schedule. They were ready quickly and I picked up some of the mango salsa to take as well. The to go container was sturdy and in a paper bag. Napkins, salsa and utensils were available to take as well. Man oh man was I so happy that the chefs really know their business! These were some of the best tacos I have had in ages. They were fresh, loaded with chicken and fish (respectively) and absolutely delicious. And that mango salsa had a great kick that was perfect! In addition to all that, the whole meal was about 9 bucks because it was Taco Tuesday! Do yourself a favor and visit
Extremely delicious tacos, you've got to try the birria quesadilla. Just have in mind that the quesadillas are big! The carne asada tacos are top notch. The store is very well kept, and its ambientation is beautiful. 5/5
