This place is a hidden gem. We arrived on a very rainy day, yet once we got inside there was sunshine everywhere. My friend and I were so happy. The food was just delicious and the service was top notch. I am vegetarian 90% of the time, however, I had fish that day and it was superb. We had the Poisson Grill, the Sweet Plantains, and the Ris Gras with no meat. Let me tell you, I ate slower on purpose!! So flavorful and so smooth… The sauce that came with the Ris Gras was amazing too!! This experience could not have been the same without Amy!! She was the best waitress ever. She greeted us like we were family and her smiles, amazing knowledge of the menu, and energy was just perfect. I used to train servers and Amy made it look so easy. Please support this off the beaten path restaurant! Te
Amazing food, fresh fish and good jollof rice. the portions were very generous we had 1 fish and side of jollof with plantains for 3 people, total costs $50 very affordable. will come back for sure. the place was relatively empty so no reservation required
The owner and the staff are really nice, unfortunately the food is a huge disappointment. The palmnut soup is made with canned puree which is ok but as someone who cooks herself i know it wasn’t strained cause it was full of SAND, impossible to enjoy…. Plus it’s false advertisement to put on the menu that it has beef, crab, cow foot when the only thing you get is 3 pieces of overcooked beef. For $18 dollars I would have made it at home. The okra stew was inedible, probably was in the freezer for days, again you are promised and assortment of meat that you are not getting. I want to support black owned/african businesses but this place has to level up in terms of the quality of food they serve.
Classic Ivorian food with a wonderful, fresh flavor! I saw this restaurant on TikTok and made my way there, the staff and the owner are all very warm and welcoming. The design of the restaurant is very simple but tasteful, I noticed the restaurant is super clean as well. The menu is very straightforward which I love. The prices are also great for 2024! If I lived closer I could imagine eating here at least once a week. Mr. Sylla is a people person, he really engaged us in conversation as well as keeping on top of the orders. It’s the mark of a good business when the owner is actually present to ensure everything runs smoothly! Keep up the good work Sylla 🥘
Had the lamb with sweet plantains on my first try, needless to say it was extremely delicious. The next time I had the red snapper with a salad and omg it was od delicious and extremely flavorful. I will surely return.
