I had such a great experience at Swiss Chalet Bakery. Everything in the bakery was incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the quality in their pastries. The flavors were rich without being overly sweet, and you can tell everything is made with a lot of care. The highlight for me was getting to go behind the scenes and see how everything is baked. Watching the team work and learning a bit about their process made the experience so much more special. It’s not every day you get to see the craft and passion that goes into making pastries like that. Everyone there was welcoming and clearly takes pride in what they do. Between the fresh pastries and the fun behind-the-scenes experience, it was such a memorable visit. I’ll definitely be coming back (probably way too often 😅). If you’re anyw
Swiss chalet bakery and cafe was truly amazing. A hidden HALAL gem. The food was exceptional and quick, the burger and fries were handmade which was very unique from other food places. Also the desert menu was really huge, carrot cake was great but the custom cakes that you can get were beautiful and exceptional. Everything was made in house and the owner was nice enough to give us a tour, facility is super clean and everyone is so nice. Will be back again!
A longtime standing bakery which has been a favourite in the Montclair area for ages has fully gone zabiha halal, which is a plus! All of their favourite desserts, which use the original recipes from over 60 years ago are just as wonderful as we've always remembered them to be, but now have the added incentive of them using zero-proof liquors to ensure their lroduct is as accessible to the masses as possible. They donate all the leftover bakes at the end of the day to shelters and halfway houses, bake fresh breads for the churches on Sundays, bake special breads for all Jewish holidays, and have Ramadan cookies in stock right now and are opening up for suhoor Saturdays as Sundays from 12-5 AM for the Muslims. THIS is what community is about, and this is what New Jersey is about! So proud t
Not sure why the employee thought putting a mini cupcake on a huge plate was ok. But the worst part.. I asked is the almond croissant filled, she said yes. I ordered it and asked if she can heat it. She did. I guess she doesnt understand how to heat a pastry, it needs only 10 seconds ESPECIALLY IF IT HAS A FILLING. She came back maybe 2 minutes later. That croissant was like fire and so was the plate and it was paper. You have to eat the croissant before it gets chewy then hard. But the filling was like eating pieces of the sun. I wasted my money. I had to throw most of it out. But here is a video of the microwaved leftover almond croissROCK. Teach your staff how to properly heat pastries. The cupcake was a mini brick. I will never go back.
★★★★★ I had the chance to go behind the scenes at Swiss Chalet Bakery and it made me appreciate them even more. You can truly see the care and dedication that goes into everything they make from the freshness of the ingredients to the beautiful presentation everything is done with intention and quality in mind. What really stands out is that everything is 100% halal which makes it such a reliable spot for the community especially during Ramadan. Their bakery items and food menu are perfect for iftar and suhoor. The atmosphere is welcoming the staff is kind and the flavors speak for themselves. Definitely a place you need to visit if you haven’t already.
