Sushi Masa Lakeland

Wonderful sushi place that is good for even those who don't like sushi. As someone who doesn't eat seafood I was super happy. Tempura vegetables, the Lucky Buddha roll, great noodles. The desserts were great too! Lovely team of servers. Our main server was Albert and he was a real gem for the 4 of us. Comes with an alcohol choice and their all you can eat selections are great. Lovely place and plenty of food! We'll be back!

HOW do I even start. This is the most life changing sushi place I have ever been to. I’m usually not the raw fish type of sushi person, but this has been the only place so far that actually makes it good. I love trying new things at restaurants, but this places food is just so good that I stick with my favorites. To start off with sushi, I get the California roll and the Philadelphia roll. I’m way too lazy to explain what that is, so you’ll have to look that up. Then, I also get the tamyam soup or whatever it’s called. This soup is my favorite soup ever and I have never heard of it outside this restaurant. Maybe it’s a specialty, or maybe I’m just uneducated, but that’s not my problem. Sushi Masa in Lakeland is a solid option if you’re looking for convenient, all-you-can-eat sushi, but it does fall into the “good, not great” category—especially when compared to places like Sushi Yama. The food overall is decent and consistent enough to keep people coming back, but it lacks the refinement and freshness you notice at higher-quality sushi spots. The sushi itself is acceptable, but the difference in execution is noticeable. At Sushi Yama, the sushi feels more precise and traditional, while at Sushi Masa the rolls tend to be heavier and less balanced. It’s not bad, just more average. This place has the potential to be 5 star, need to start with the food, the calamari was like rubber, the California roll the crab was mushy, I will say the potatoes roll was good and the dragon roll was good, the fried oreos were ok. The service was just ok was not very tentative. The building was amazing and unique, the decor was done in a way to give an atmosphere that gave the restaurant a welcome asian vibe

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, the service and food fell short. The menu is pricey unless you go for the $33 AYCE option (I didn’t try it, but it might be the better value).
