Struggletown BBQ

Found this wonderful BBQ place by accident and what a find it was! The food was amazing. I have not found a BBQ spot on LI that tastes like real BBQ, until we found Struggletown! The food and service were amazing. We got the brisket mac n cheese, the Big john platter and the Aloha Justin sandwich. All were tender and full of flavor! And don't forget the sauces, in addition to the regular ones on the table the red valley heat, Alabama white, and the shed sauce all different than the other but equally good. We will absolutely be back!

Stopped as I was in the area and got the Big John Sampler and it was all delicious and well prepared. Had a nice conversation with a gentleman at the register and I believe the owner. I bbq/smoke myself and have been around Texas and this was great bbq and definitely the best on LI. All the meats were done correctly with great taste, texture and sauce. The cornbread was some of the best I can remember having. Will be back for more and to support a small business that also supports the community.

1st time here, heard really great things and was in the mood. Got a simple Ruben that was the best I've ever had! Thick cuts of home cured pastrami, delicious bread and I swapped out the 1000 Island for spicy mustard because it's a preference of mine (and made the sandwich that much better lol) Based off just the quality of that sandwich and the individuals working, you cannot go wrong here! Atmosphere was a 4 because it's a BBQ joint, you're not expecting 5 star dining but it's quaint and 100% appropriate.

We ordered from Struggletown last week and it was delivered. We tried the Big John sampler and a bunch of sides. EVERYTHING was so good. Cornbread was sweet and moist. Meats you could cut with a spoon. Home run.

This place was found on a whim. THANK YOU, GOOGLE MAPS! What a blessing it was to dine here! Food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is amazing! John and Maureen were down to earth, honest, kind, lovely people! I'll definitely be back! To think, they've been here 1 yr, and I never knew it. I'll now be a returning, regular customer!!
