StoneHouse Coffee & Roastery (Drive Thru)

I first discovered Stonehouse about a year ago and have stopped in from time to time. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was quite disappointing. Upon sitting down, I noticed that my table was dirty, sticky to the touch and covered with crumbs. The surrounding floor appeared as though it had not been mopped recently. When I approached the counter to order a latte, the barista seemed visibly unpleasant and gave me an unwelcoming look, which set the tone for the rest of my visit. I also observed that the espresso shots being used appeared to have been sitting for some time. When I finally received my drink, it was barely warm and certainly not what one would expect from a hot latte. Overall, the experience was below average and left much to be desired. Fabulous little coffee shop! The scones are the best I've ever had - made fresh, moist, interesting flavor selections & seasonal menu options - lavender, pumpkin, chai, banana! The peach scone is my favorite. I highly recommend for those passing through. It's very close to the cottage we are staying at & has a cozy vibe. PS - they have a drive thru & fast service.

Just a couple of observations. First, if you run out of pastries every Sunday by 10:30 perhaps you should reevaluate your needs. Secondly, if the line of customers is 15 deep don’t have an employee stand in front of the coffee grinder waiting for it to finish…twice. Thirdly, have a cashless payment system for people that only want coffee. The only job of the person behind the counter is to take money and hand out cups.

The blueberry gluten free scone was delicious. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Drip coffee was good too.

What a wonderful place! Service was excellent with engaging baristas and a wonderful atmosphere. Coffee was great (Cafe mocha & a Chai smoothie), and while I was disappointed that they were out of apple scones, the blueberry/lemon was very good!
