St. Marys Public Library

“Like the Library Version of the Alamo” Solid, welcoming, and quiet—the way a public library should feel. I stopped in to work on legal exhibits for a custody case, and this space gave me room to think without disruption. The layout feels thoughtfully designed, with enough privacy to focus but not so large that you feel lost. Beautiful brick courtyard, arches like something out of an old mission, and best of all, staff who let people breathe. After a rough experience down the road, this was a breath of fresh air. Respect to St. Marys.

I grew up in a time where in the library, we are supposed to be quiet in order to be respectful to what others have going on. The ladies that work here must have missed the memo. They converse so loud! They yell and laugh as if people don’t come here for the quiet, or to do work. It is sad. And when you say something, they pretend as if you didn’t.

This library is a gem! The staff is incredibly polite and went out of their way to help with printing and faxing. The children’s area is well-equipped and inviting, and there’s plenty of seating with lots of natural light, making it a great place to relax or work. The location is central and easy to find, with ample parking available. The seed lending library is a charming touch that adds to the community feel. If you need to register to vote, they can do it on the spot and send it out to you without issue or wait. Overall, an awesome library experience!

We stopped by to join the library. Tara could not be nicer and more helpful. She was completely knowledgeable about everything regarding the Ga. Library system. Great experience!! ❤️

Rude librarians that are unsupportive of their military community. Refused to let us get a card and check-out books for my 3 and 10 month old. I was treated like someone who was trying to steal books. They must not have kids because as a mother of 2 or even 1 its a great feat to get ready and out of the house only to be told I need a piece of mail with my address on it. Even a insurance card from a local angency wasnt enough?! There was also very little to keep kids occupied unlike my last library that had puzzles, mind games and activities. Do not recommend! Community is supposed to help each other out!
