Sposito’s Pasties

I highly recommend Sposito's. The pasties are excellent, especially the cherry dessert pasty. The cherry pasty was one of the better dishes I've eaten during my UP travels over the past three years. The gentleman working there was very friendly and welcoming. The dining area is quaint, large, and welcoming. The location is excellent, being right across the street from a scenic view of the bridge. Pure Michigan.

I was traveling to the UP for an anniversary party and stopped at Sposito’s Pastie. Oh..my..gosh…it was the most savory pastie I have ever had!!! I had the chicken pastie. The dough was perfect. The chicken was tender and so full of flavor. The vegetable medley (broccoli, carrots, onion, potatoes) was perfectly cooked and so creamy, warm and savory. You can eat there in their adorable, perfectly clean dine in area or take it to go. I also bought a variety of dessert pasties to take to the party. They are conveniently located right on US2 and it’s a very easy in and out while you are traveling. Look no further if you cross the Mackinaw bridge and are on the hunt for THE BEST PASTIE IN THE U.P.

Our first Pastie in Michigan so we have no point of reference to compare it too...BUT...I will say the blend of seasoning and ingredients were spot on. The pastry shell was cooked perfectly not overdone. Had the Beef Pastie with Gravy and the Blueberry one as well. We drove across the street and enjoyed the view.

The vegetarian pasties at Sposito's are delicious! The crust is perfect and the filling is flavorful. I haven't had a good vegetarian pasty in a long time, and was so glad we stopped here. We will definitely be back. The service was friendly and quick, and everything was very clean. There are souvenirs, fudge, maple syrup products, produce and used books for sale. There is a beverage cooler with drinks. They have a couple of tables inside and several picnic tables outside. Restroom has an outside entrance. I couldn't find an outside trash can, though, and there was no shade at the picnic tables, so some umbrellas would be nice. It was fairly busy when we were there, so parking was sort of a free-for-all.

I am not from the UP and had never tried a pasty, or really heard of them, until I saw signs on the way to Mackinac. I was determined to try them before we left. After checking on Google, Sposito's had the highest rating, and the reviews were all favorable. So, at around 10:45 on a Sunday morning, we pulled into a busy parking lot. Let me say. The reviews were accurate. The crust was PERFECT. Flaky and wonderful. The fillings, amazing. We had the beef pasty with gravy and a strawberry rhubarb pasty. So, so good. The gravy is a MUST for the beef one! 100% wish we had this down South. I'm saving this restaurant for our next trip back!
