Mackinac Straits Fish Company

This is a must stop for me when I want amazing smoked fish. I get the smoked trout and smoked whitefish, making sure I pack crackers :-). They have other types of smoked fish, fresh fish, lemons, crackers, maple syrup, mustards, cold fish dips, and have a frozen section. They offer ice as well. The artwork for sale changes each time I go—it is local and beautiful. It is a small, unassuming building. I found it when Family Fare had the parking lot closed for resurfacing and I had to park in a different spot—right next to the Fish Company. I first noticed the mural. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Owner is awesome, opened up for us and iced down everything. The fish sticks kinda like jerky and fish jerky are amazing. The smoked fish is fresh, and the fresh fish was perfect. We always stop here when in town. Best smoked whitefish around.

This is a must stop on my visits down state. I get the whitefish dip and smoked fish to take to family for gifts. These guys are awesome. They were the only ones my dad would get from. He was very peticular of who he got fish and it was only the best. It’s friendly service and considerate to travelers to make sure they have ice. You guys are awesome.

A regular stop for us to buy our smoked salmon and Whitefish. They also carry a yummy Whitefish dip....don't worry they have crackers and cheese too!
