Im from Montreal and hadn’t been to Spicy Moon since my last visit to NYC in 2022. I remembered it being really good so my expectations were high. I’m pleased to say the food and service surpassed my expectations. I came twice on our 3 day trip. My wife and I were travelling with our 15 month old daughter and the staff was very accommodating. I believe our server was named « Kalil », he was very friendly, professional and recommended us the Kung Pao style tofu and DanDan noodles. Both we so good. Since being vegan for about 10 years this was possibly the best tofu dish I’ve had. I can’t wait to come back to Spicy Moon.
Spicy moon is a great place for some good vegan food! All the chicken dishes taste like actual real meat, and it doesn’t feel like you’re eating vegan meat. The vegan meat dishes I tried which were the kung pao style and the chicken and broccoli which were bursting with flavor and truly delicious. They had a good mix of the sauces in it. Their French fries were also really great and flavorful. Service was alright and our food came out fairly quickly. The prices are alright and moderate. It’s not too expensive nor was it really affordable, just in between. The decor of the place is also nice and fun, I liked the pink theme that they had going. I have to come back here to try their noodles. Price: $28.00💸 Rating: 8/10📝
I and my spouse are a big fan of this place. The attached photos are from our 4th visit to Spicy Moon, we are addicted to this food! Their Dan Dan noodles are our all time favorite and we visit often just craving for it. This time we tried Curry style, and it was just amazing, we loved tofu and veggies and in curry taste made out of coconut milk. Definitely must try Schezuan food in NYC, and of course the go to for vegans!
Spicy moon delivered at a level in line with my expectations for vegan food. As a non vegan I would definitely recommend as an inclusive option for your leaf loving friends or partner. The drinks were solid, ambience inviting and service friendly. Highlights were the scallion pancake, general tso’s chicken and the spicy wontons.
Good vegan spot in the city. We were seated at a small, wobbly table placed on a steel plate right in the middle of a busy pathway — not ideal, especially since most of the staff had to pass by us constantly. It’s not the staff’s fault, of course, just an unfortunate spot (kind of a blind spot next to the bathroom and far from the larger tables). That said, the food was good! Highlight of the night: The Kung Pao Veggies — absolutely delicious. The fried tofu was amazing, and the mix of tempura-fried veggies tossed in a sweet and spicy gochujang-based sauce really hit the spot. Dumplings in Chilli Oil: 2.5/5 — Flavor-wise they were decent, but way too oily for my taste. Mushroom Bao Bun: Tasty, but the portion felt a bit small — just one bao per order, which was a little underwhelming. The
