Overall a solid pick. It starts off well having a free parking garage nearby and with great weather my wife and I were able to sit outside. The service was good, and friendly. And the food is pretty good. I took my wife here because I tried it before and enjoyed it. On our night out we started with fried green tomatoes, which were very good. For my meal I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich, which was decent, and my wife had the blackened catfish. Definite potential. Service is good and a nice atmosphere. I went here as my wife met with a friend for dinner. The place was close and looked promising so I checked it out. A long-time Alexandria classic. Great food and service with a neighborhood vibe. Choose from the sports bar or family dining areas. I especially recommend the jalepeno honey pulled chicken, whether as a salad, sandwich, or nachos. The fried sweet pickles are a favorite appetizer my out-of-town family keep asking for. when they're here.

Love this place! Just wish they'd deliver on one of the apps. The 815 Biscuit appetizer is a must-try. It uses sweet potato biscuits but they're not sweet at all so they go perfectly with the salty Virginia country ham and the lump blue crab meat and white gravy. The chicken fingers are also a must-try. Very generous portion, more like multiple chicken schnitzels because these are pounded a little flat (but still thick) and breaded with nice thick flour batter. THAT REMOULADE SAUCE. Best ive ever had. And those poboys are great too. I got a oyster/crawfish combo. Very generously stuffed.

Omg I just got the gumbo for my first time eating here. This is amazing! Absolutely mouthwatering. Definitely coming back! Thank you Nick for the recommendation!

Honestly, this was the best service I’ve ever received! Our server/waiter was Nick and he truly made our day. So much so that we decided to leave him a substantial tip. Nick is very social aware, knowledgeable about their restaurant and items, and he thouroghly explains the highlights of their menu and a brief history of their establishment. He regularly checked in during our dinner but what really sets him apart is his high charismatic and warming energy. This was not only for our table but the surrounding tables as well. Extremely respectful and kind, and a prior service member ! All the best to Nick and we wish him and his establishment all the best. Give that man a promotion !
