Southern Inn Restaurant

Had an excellent meal for my daughter's birthday at the Southern Inn Restaurant. This is the second time eating here and both times have been a great experience. The food was perfectly prepared and tasted great. We ordered the lamb meatballs for an appetizer to share. For our mains we had shrimp & grits, grilled salmon, duck breast, and the special of the day, seared tuna. We all sampled each other's plate and every one was very well prepared and cooked as requested. I highly recommend making a reservation as even on a Wednesday, it was quite busy. Great choice when dining in Lexington.

My sister in law had her rehearsal dinner at the restaurant. The staff is phenomenal and very attentive to guests needs. Food was also delicious. Hope to have the opportunity to stop in for dinner during regular hours. Right in the heart of historic Lexington. Super cool place, friendly staff, and good food…what else could you ask for!! Made a reservation today (01-17-21) for brunch and my first visit to Southern Inn. Southern Inn is one of only two restaurants in Lexington currently serving brunch (Tonic being the other.) There's a warm atmosphere inside which made a nice first impression - we were sat at a table on the bar side of the restaurant, which I preferred to the main room. My date and I started our meal with two Bloody Marys featuring Southern Inn's in-house mix, which I feel like could have used more spice, but were balanced a bit by the seasonings used to line the glasses. Garnishes were an olive and a lime, plus dilly beans, which are not something that I'd put in Bloody Marys that I mixed myself, but I understand they're a generally accepted Bloody Mary ingredient. We literally stumbled upon this marvelous restaurant on a locals recommendation. The hostess was sweet and charming... But Miss Whitney made my birthday dinner extra special. She was attentive and personal yet professional at the same time. The food was fabulous like we've never tasted before! Highly recommend this charming establishment tucked in downtown!

Best food in 5 states. Great server. Great menue. Excellent 👍 deserts. Nice wine list. Moderate by the glass prices. Depending upon what you order $$ to $$$$. Expert tip...try and get the table nearest to the kitchen, it has a big picture window, so if your a foodie...you can watch your entire meal from scratch.
