Solid Grill & Bar

Went to the solid bar and grill in downtown Boise at 405 S. 8th st for a late lunch before the place fills up. Hannah was the waitress and she was a five star waitress. She was professional, very helpful and a very good conversational kinds of person that made me feel comfortable. I ordered the chipotle black jack burger with some very hand cut fries and they have a three beer rotation. She told me the three and she said the Irish red was her favorite. She offered to bring me three samples and I agreed that the Irish red was the best if the three. When we review a place it’s rated on three categories. Food, service and atmosphere. I give five stars on service and food with a 4 1/2 on atmosphere. I will come back and the price was at a very nice price point.

My son and I were hungry late into the evening and we were lucky to find out this restaurant with still open. Our food was really good , and we had a couple ciders. As the evening progressed, more people came in to enjoy the bar. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy and the shrimp was well cooked. I enjoy the spices. My son had there wings. He found them tasteful however smaller then expected. We would both still highly recommend!!

Solid place to eat (I'm sure that joke is overused). I ordered the nachos and what set these apart is how they layered the cheese and chicken. Too many places just have a mound of chips and then throw everything on top. These guys did better then that. The chips were slightly too crispy but that is me just trying to provide some kind of feedback. The reality is the meal was phenomenal. My wife had the gyro and thoroughly enjoyed her meal too. Service was friendly and aware of us. Would recommend, will come again.

I came into town around 1045 pm and this was one of the only places still open. After a long day of travel, it was great to finally have a meal. They did NOT have gluten free bread or buns, so I just got the pulled pork on some lettuce. It was tasty though. The sweet potato fries were good, just wish they were crisper. I got a cocktail that was vanilla rum, pineapple juice and lemon. And let me tell you, it was delicious! Travel companion had cheesy shrimp and grits and he said it was incredible. Atmosphere is great, they also have a cute patio area but it was too chilly for us.

We had a great meal. Live music, excellent service. Great food. Rain was super friendly and accommodated all our requests, even when we asked for a table in the shade. Definitely coming back.
