Sola Ramen and Sushi

I went to Sola Ramen and Sushi and had the California roll, shrimp fried rice, and two Japanese sodas. The California roll was fresh and balanced, good rice, smooth avocado, and clean flavors. They did it right without overdoing anything. The shrimp fried rice was tasty on its own, but the sauce they gave me to pour over it made it even better. It had that rich, savory kick you usually get from soy-based sauces, the kind of sauce that’s common in Japanese dishes and goes great with rice. In Japanese food, soy sauce (also called shoyu) and sauces built off it are often used to add salty, umami depth to rice and other dishes. My boyfriend and I came in for dinner on a weekday and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is beautiful, modern but cozy. We ordered ramen and sushi: the spicy tonkotsu kimchi ramen, miso ramen, and the firecracker maki roll. I didn’t order the spicy tonkotsu but immediately wished I had; it was super flavorful with the perfect kick, so that’s what I’ll be getting next time. The sushi was fresh and nicely plated, and everything came out quickly. Overall great service and a great experience. We’ll definitely be back.

I wasn’t expecting much, but when I walked in, the ambiance was great. We came to try out the sushi. We ordered the Christmas Maki and Fuji roll. Both were delicious and the ingredients were fresh. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was quaint and nicer than expected. Highly recommend.

Sola Ramen and Sushi is a true gem in Elgin, SC. From the moment you enter, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with stylish décor and great music. We ordered sushi and spring rolls to start, and they were delicious. The beef ramen—ordered extra spicy—was hands down the best ramen I’ve had in the area. The broth was rich, flavorful, and unique compared to other ramen spots. Service was excellent, seating was quick, and the restaurant had a steady flow of happy customers the entire time we were there. Even though they’ve only been open for about two months, I can already see this becoming everyone’s favorite ramen and sushi spot. Highly recommend trying the extra spicy ramen if you enjoy a kick!
