Sol Café

Kinda sad we’ve lived in Torrington for 5 years and only just now tried Cafe Sol. Decided to place a take out order on a Friday night. We got the family meal for around $40 we got fried pork, rice (arroz con gondules) tostones, and salad. We also added the white rice and beans, and a cubano with onion rings. The portion was perfect we are a family of 5 but 2 of our kids are under 10 so they don’t eat a ton. Next time we would probably go with the roast pork. Both rices were phenomenal, but the beans…. My god the most flavorful and best beans I’ve ever had. Could literally eat them like soup and be content. The cubano was also really good and the onion rings were fire. Tiny place clean but aged. The food is amazing. Everything we have ever had has been top notch.

Wish I took a picture when it came out. Smelled so good I didnt think of it till my plate was almost done. The smoothies were fantastic. Rice perfect texture. Presentation was nice. The waiters are super nice. I'm an hour away. I can see myself taking the drive can coming back. If your in the area, i recommend if your into spanish food. We had pastelitos chicken, beef, and cheese. Tostones. White rice, with side of beans. Yellow rice with beans. Pork shoulder. Breaded chicken. A strawberry, and a pineapple smoothie. The food was absolutely delicious 🤤 the service could have been a bit better in terms of friendliness and attentiveness. No issue on my end with the time it took to get my food as it was being cooked in the back so it came out hot & good. They have somewhat of a bar and although I didn't have anything besides water/soda to drink the drinks I saw being made looked very tasty and refreshing. I will definitely be circling back to try some other items. I had the beef turnover, steak rice bowl, oxtails (to go), and my friend had the pork chop of course rice and beans. The portion sizes were filling couldn't eat it all in one sitting. If you're thinking of trying I recommend you do. Enjoy...
