This family-owned restaurant is a tiny hidden gem tucked behind Terravita. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and hearty. The paella was packed with seafood. But the rabo encendido was my absolute favorite 😋 Also notable were the homemade churros and the maduros which were at the perfect ripeness when cooked and caramelized beautifully. Then after ordering all that (plus rice, empanadas, and two fruit smoothies) we were surprised by how affordable it all was. They also do catering, we were happy to learn. They'll definitely be seeing us again. Thanks for a wonderful time and some great food!
Surprisingly excellent Cuban spot! Everything we tried was clear proof that this place is doing things right. The yuca fritters were a standout, especially with that sweet mango sauce..so good we wanted extra. The cucumber mint lemonade was incredibly refreshing, and the mango lemonade was just as delicious. For the main dish, the chicken a la parrilla with coconut rice was flavorful and comforting, and the shrimp starter was perfectly cooked and a great way to begin the meal. On top of all that, the service was great! friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We’d absolutely love to come back and try more of the menu or have it to take out 😋
It was our first time trying Sofrito, and it won’t be our last. We had the Alitas Caribeñas (jerk chicken wings), Rabo Encendido (oxtail stew), Paella Valenciana, and Churros. Every dish was flavorful and delicious. The restaurant location is small, but the food tastes like it was prepared with pride and care. This is a hidden gem. Update: We went back for a second time this evening. I met two of Sofrito’s staff while I was there, Jorge and Tatiana, and they we
Amazing food and the portion sizes are huge! We had the tamarind ribs and the lechón asado, fantastic flavors. Also GREAT service - Gonzalez was very attentive and friendly. Excited to go back to try the rest of the menu!
Absolutely delicious food, wonderful service and menu. We ordered the Camarones Al Ajillo and the Rabo Ancendido (Oxtail). The flavor and tenderness of the Rabo was 10/10. The Ajillo was just as good. Would absolutely recommend and return again as the menu had so many great dishes. Thank you!!
