I just happened to go there with my wife for lunch since we were in the area. At first, the menu prices looked to be on the high side. However, I am always excited to try something new. Wow the food was fantastic! My chicken tacos were hardy and full of flavor. The pineapple lemonade was unique and good. My wife had the quesadillas and she loved them. The little sauces added some extra oomph to every bite. We are Puerto Rican so we want bold flavor and it delivered. Now the finale. The horchata flan is OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! I grew up eating flan and was wondering what the heck they put into this thing to make it taste so rich and light. The Rice Krispy bits scattered across the plate with drizzle and fresh strawberry pieces added even more character. That recipe deserves an awa
First time coming here since we moved to the area. When we first walked in the hostesses were great, however, after we were sat it took a while for someone to come over and even ask us our drink order. We wanted several workers just in the wet bar area chatting and not paying attention. They finally walked out from behind the wet bar and walked by our table. We were about to get up and leave when finally a waitress came over to take our order. We gave our order and were finally given water. Food was okay but nothing in rushing back for. Margaritas have too much triple sec for my liking making it hard to drink. Could taste the tequila so I do appreciate that and it not being too much juice.
First time checking out this spot and although the service was great, it felt like the food was just fine. I appreciated the free chips and salsa while you wait, but the chips were a bit stale and the salsa tasted like it came out of a jar. Our food came pretty quickly and was good, but was kind of bland and lacked flavor that I was expecting. I’d go back and maybe give it another shot, but with so many other local places that have this same type of food, I’m not sure this would be a place I go to often.
Our experience could be summed up in a single word. Okay. There was nothing wrong with it, the is nothing that stood out. The building, decor and music are vibrant and builds an expectation of a lively experience. Then reality settled in. The music was just a little too loud for easy conversation. The waitress was polite. The service speed was average, not bad. They put out a tiny bowl of chips and salsa. It was probably the smallest of any restaurant I've been to and there was no offer to refill when it was gone. The salsa was fresh made, but just okay. As it is marketed as tacos and tequila, we ordered tacos and margaritas. With dozens of bottles of tequila we thought that there might be a separate menu, some information, flights, anything, but there was not. So we tried a basic and top
It’s a little pricey BUT! Given this economy it’s understandable. I got the carne asada entree and it was amazing. The skillet was so hot it kept the steak and potatoes piping hot through the entire meal. The rice and beans were cooked perfectly, it was a lot of food I couldn’t finish it I tried! The atmosphere is awesome the lights, plants the wooden panel walls were cool. But the star of the show was as the mojitos ohhh man the chipotle pineapple is my new favorite I will keep coming back and try every single one. But the atmosphere at the bar was great.
