Awesome food and such a great location!! Went here for dinner before a movie and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Have been wanting more bbq spots in Fort Collins and will definitely be coming back. Had the brisket, pulled pork, fries, and beans - all of which were phenomenal. Friendly staff and a large space, patio outside would be great in summer.
Flavor of everything was very good. This is 1/4lb of burnt ends for $9. This might take up a half piece of bread at most. That’s pretty pricey for a little bit of meat. Will definitely go here again! That option is just not worth it.
I went for lunch here the other day. I ordered a 1/2lb of (Burnt Ends) and a glass of water. The meat was fresh, not like some other BBQ places where it is sitting in a hot pan. It had moisture it it and the flavor was great. My only gripe was the price. $17.17 before the $1.00 tip. You could buy two racks of pork ribs from Sams for a few dollars more. I can not justify spending that much for that amount again, but like I said, it tasted good.
I wish I could have tried everything! Jake, the GM and chef, has brought Texas style bbq to Colorado and it's delicious! Superb service at the bar and great bar seating. The burnt ends were a little fatty for my taste (which is something I've noticed in the reviews... And yes, I have been to bbq places with lean burnt ends..no fatty pieces), but the lean meat within them was delicious! The deviled eggs were full of flavor. Cheddar jalapeno sausage was moist and delicious. But my favorite was the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers (not breaded!!!). Great quality for the price, and I had plenty of leftovers and left feeling stuffed!
Inside on the chalkboard, is a "Special of the Day", everyday. It varies depending on what works best for them as a restaurant. Chris explained to me that sometimes throughout the year, they will also have a planned special. Last week, it was a Chicago Italian Beef sandwich. This is NOT on the menu every day. Normally, Colorado does not know how to make a real authentic Italian Beef, but Smok's version was the best I have ever had!
