Raska International Cuisine & Sauce

If you want delicious flavors and spices like you have never had before, flavors that have a party in your mouth and dance across your tongue, I could not recommend any restaurant higher than Raska! We drove up two and a half hours (one way) to visit our daughter and take her out to our favorite restaurant--Raska. And I would drive up two and a half hours right now just to eat there again. We ordered the plantains, the eggplants, the brussels and the mushrooms with a little side of the yams and the lentil stew--all served family style. (My favorite is the plantains) Everything delicious--although there was quite a debate about whether the traditional Raska sauce or the caramelized Raska sauce was better--both are so good! This is the best restaurant in Fort Collins. Hands down. The food is amazing. The ambiance is lovely like a warm hug in a wholsome home. The owner and chef pays the utmost attention to detail and quality. The dishes are Ethiopian fusion, unique, and delicious. I recommend it to everyone I know.

Other reviews will talk all about the food, which is the best in the city. I want to talk about how Hannah, the owner, is also the best. One time in winter my friends and I had arrived a bit late and the open sign was still on, so we thought the hours had changed to later. The hours hadn’t changed (sign was accidentally left on), but when Hannah saw us shivering outside 10 min later she immediately welcomed us in and told us to order whatever we wanted, with a hot ginger tea on the house for the cold. This wonderful experience, combined with the most flavourful and delicious food in the city, has made me into a life long customer. I intend to eat here any time I visit Fort Collins.

This is probably the best food I have experienced in Fort Collins!! The menu is largely vegan and gluten free, and every dish is packed with flavor, and big portions! The raska sauce is to die for. Please come here and try this food. You get to eat communal style, and use the spongey flatbread called injera to scoop up and eat all of the yummy dishes. They also source their veggies from local farms! I highly recommend the Doro Wot (chicken) and Misir Wot (lentils- vegan!!). The owner and chef Hanna is the kindest woman I have ever met. She makes you feel like you've entered her home as a welcome guest, and the whole experience is cozy and filled with comfort. Go support these amazing people!!!

Cute atmosphere, lovely owner, great food. Had sweet yams and doro wot. Each was about $20, but the portions were SO generous. We were some of the last people of the night and both the owner and host stopped by the table to offer food/drinks while we wait and apologize for the wait. Very celiac/GF-friendly. Love this place!
