Ordered a cheese burger and it was good. I was a little afraid to order fish or seafood so I tried the clam chowder to test the waters. I had 2 spoons and quit. Nothing like what I expected. Coleslaw wasn't good, either. But, the service was fantastic.
Excellent and very courteous staff. The food and key lime pie were delicious. They are in the transitioning of ownership from Robinson Seafood to Slaughterhouse. I took a picture of my meal which was the Seafood Platter. The hush puppies were excellent. Will definitely go back. Almost didn’t go due to a negative review but will say the glad I ignored it and went.
Me and my wife went to cedar key to try a new restaurant. We settled on Slaughterhouse Seafood and it was the best decision we made. The food was amazing and the grouper practically melted in my mouth. Everything is hot and fresh. The Hush Puppies were hands the best I've ever had. My wife finished every bite of her cheese grits made with real cheese and not processed slices. Topped her list for cheese grits. The Shrimp was perfect. I loved everything I ordered. The food is not too expensive and the owners there were so hospitable. It's a nice cozy place to enjoy a fresh seafood mean. If you are heading to Cedar Key you have to eat here. I promise you won't be disappointed. 5 stars for sure.
Not overly impressed. 👍 Friendly, market has a good selection of seafood. Dessert! 👎 Lots of fried choices, few drink choices, ice tea Meh, meals were simple, , chowder was good, ( but not what most people) expect. Tables sticky, We can only hope this young family can continue to evolve into true restauranturs As a waypoint to cedar key, this will at least keep you fed.
Great food. We have only done take out (as we are dog parents) but the few times we have been since we have been down here the food is consistently outstanding, portions HUGE, and the staff very nice. We have had the broiled grouper (with corn/clam chowder, beans, hush puppies) and the fried grouper equally as good. We will go back again and again. Don’t let the name sway you (it’s a family name) this place should be on your “must stop” list. (And they do have outdoor seating as well as indoor).
