Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast

The Silver Lake B&B is a quaint and cozy place to stay!! My wife and I spent three days there during Valentine's Day weekend and had a wonderful time. It would have been better but the place does show clear sign of wear and tear. That may be appealing to some B&B travelers but we would have like some things a little more modern. Mainly the bathroom and shower. Overall, I would stay there again but maybe in warmer weather.

We stayed one night in Aug 2025. There was an abundance of communication, about 4 or 5 emails and 6 or 7 texts. Pros: the bluestone fireplace (beautiful), Maple the cat and the porch for sitting outside. Cons/Neutrals: The bed was hard as a rock, so uncomfortable. We had a lot of trouble sleeping. There were no comfortable chairs in the room either. If you are someone who watches TV, it is small. For 2 people we received 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth each. There was one wire hanger for clothes. You cannot eat in the room. Don't expect snacks or beverages like most B&Bs. It is minimalist decor. You can hear everything going on upstairs, walking, flushing, TV, talking. Obviously, they can hear you too. So you have to be mindful of that all the times. You need to let the i

The platonic ideal of a bed and breakfast. When we pulled up, we were greeted by Maple the cat. Rooms were cozy with a large shower and climate control. Breakfast was just the right portion size and delicious. The inn keepers are super friendly. Harrisonburg is an easy 10 minute drive. Perfect for a weekend getaway or JMU football game.

It was a self check in post five, had there been no other guests I’d have had no idea what to do, until I got instructions via text. Room was handsome and spacious, water pressure was weak which was a shame and the internet often cut out, and the sheets were thin. But room was cozy enough and it was quiet. It’s an old house that is pretty. Breakfast was nice and flavorsome. Overall, staying one night while passing through this is a good option especially for its price.

Wonderful in every way! Comfy cozy room with all the amenities. Rustic charm with the right modern touches. Beautiful location and the friendliest, nicest, most helpful hosts! Maple the cat makes time relaxing in a porch rocking chair a fond memory. Breakfast was delicious and lots of complimentary beverages and fresh crisp apples. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to going back!!
