Everything about Sierra Bakehouse is thoughtful and beautifully done. We ordered takeout, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The pastries are clearly handcrafted with care — flaky, buttery, and perfectly balanced. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put real intention into both their sweet and savory offerings. Everything tasted fresh and expertly baked, the kind of food you immediately want to come back for. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, even during a quick pickup. They were friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience feel warm and personal. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and even the packaging feels intentional and well done. This is a local “secret” that unfortunately too many know about. They are only open on Friday starting at 8:00 am. But the line forms before that. You can get on an email to read about that week’s specials. I make a list and bring it along with containers that get filled with goodies. What they make varies from week to week depending upon what is fresh to with and their moods.

Every time I visit Truckee, I try to make sure I’m there on Friday so I can go get my pastry fix at Sierra Bakehouse. Everything we have purchased from pastries, cookies, bread and all the savory options, have been delicious. So fresh and just yummy. Staff is efficient, helpful and friendly. It’s worth getting up early to grab a spot in line.

Wow!!!!!! This is my 3rd time at Sierra Bakehouse — so fun and phenomenal. Today I tried their pretzel with spicy cheese sauce and their eggplant, tomato, onion calzone… best lunch ever. (Be sure to warm them up) looking forward to the other treats I have in my box. Go, enjoy! Purchase for a friend🌷
