Shrimps

This little hole-in-the-wall is hands down one of my FAVORITE restaurants. I’ve taken my parents and friends here more times than I can count 😂 and it never disappoints! I’ve had the whiting, catfish, shrimp, wings, yams, mac & cheese, and string beans so far & not one complaint. Everything is seasoned perfectly and tastes like real home cooking. My family is from the country, so this food truly reminds me of it & I love that I can get that kind of cooking closer to home. Don’t even get me started on the banana pudding… CHEF’S KISS 💋 The only downside is that it sells out way too fast 😭 This place is a solid 10/10. It’s about 40 minutes away from me, and I never mind making the drive. Totally worth it every single time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been here plenty of times, and not once have I been disappointed. This is by far the best soul food spot in Richmond—hands down! I even drive 30 minutes just to get my plate. I’ve tried the catfish and whiting both were delicious, but the whiting is definitely my favorite. The sides are always on point: the mac & cheese hits every time, and the greens and cabbage are just as good. I also tried the shrimp Alfredo, and wow… it was so good! Honestly, I haven’t had anything from here that wasn’t tasty. My boyfriend always gets the yams, greens, and salmon patties, and he never has a single complaint. The food here is just consistently good. If you’re thinking about trying it, don’t hesitate good is good!

The food was good except my Mac n cheese had an odd taste to it like an onion flavor to it which was much different from my dining companion. There's was much more cheesy and flavorful. I appreciated the fact the wings were fried hard as well as the fish but still very moist. It took a little while to get the food but it definitely was worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh and was HOTT not lukewarm but hot! Our waiter was very attentive and informative. He was prompt taking our order as well as giving us time to decide what we want. The place is a bit tight so if you have a large party you will be elbow to elbow. We definitely will be back

Stopped by to get husband and I lunch. For 2 entrees and 2 additional sides it was about $60. Let’s just say that the cornbread and yams were the only thing that tasted like something. Now I’ve been there about 2 times when I’m in area. But as you can see the fish is very overcooked. Staff doesn’t speak when entering the restaurant. Nice little neighborhood establishment. But there’s definitely not anyone’s Granny in the kitchen

Food was hot, fresh, seasoned perfectly…not a crumb was left — except for the fries…we took those home and ate em later after an oven reheat. Will definitely be back — the service was also exceptional from the door. The wait is what you should expect for fresh food made to order. I can’t say enough about this place truly. Everything was A1
