Short Cakes

We tried this place for lunch for the first time and weren't disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious. The fried green tomatoes were a bit under seasoned but that could just be my preference. The atmosphere is super cute, makes you feel the southern hospitality. The staff were really sweet, helpful, and attentive. It was neat being able to see the planes right outside. Everything is made fresh so food comes out a bit slow but it's worth it and the prices are reasonable. This will definitely be a new spot for us.

Great hidden gem. Food was very good. Prices are good. Really nice to sit and eat while watching the aircraft come and go. You can drive in by car or fly in by aircraft. Plenty of parking for both aircraft and cars.

This restaurant is Adorable. The prices are great and service was top notch. Big windows look out on to the ramp/ runway to serve all your plane spotting needs. Open at 7am on Friday. I will be flying in again just to stop here. 5 stars

I’m a big fan of food in general, but food within walking distance from the ramp with a view of beautiful planes? That’s a dream come true. I ordered the Air Controller plate, absolutely delicious. Just enough carbs to make you a little sleepy on the flight home, haha. If you’re in the area, fuel is cheap and a stop at Short Cakes is 100% worth it. Great food, great vibes, and you can’t beat the location. Safe flying, SEE YUH!

This has always been one of our favorite places and they did not disappoint in spite of having to serve the crowds from the nothing air show who had no other place to eat. Six of us rode in on motorcycles and the traffic was too bad to go elsewhere so we had no choice but to wait 45 min for a table and another 45 min to be served but the food was GREAT! Considering that they were slammed, they did an awesome job maintaining the quality of their food so we gave them a pass on service.
