WOW! I cannot get over how good Shiki is! Stopped in on a cold day for a warm meal and left craving more. The interior is cozy with a few tables and plenty of bar seating. It’s the perfect spot for a casual date night or lunch with friends or by yourself! I had their vegetable potstickers and the vegetarian miso ramen and both absolutely hit the spot. The dumplings had a nice crisp on the bottom and the filling was incredible. I cannot stop thinking about them, they were truly so delicious! The ramen was also beyond my expectations. The broth was flavorful and not overly salty and all of the ingredients came together so nicely. The flavors were outstanding! We also tried the green and peppermint tea which were delicious and high quality! To top off an amazing food experience, our waitress
Yum! We shared the potstickers and the spicy cucumber salad for starters. I ordered the Sakura Collins cocktail which was so beautiful and refreshing that I ordered a second one when dinner was served. For our entree, we each had a different type of Ramen. So delicious!!! To top it all off, we had mochi ice cream for dessert. Super chill place to grab a bite to eat and you will leave feeling rejuvenated.
Good service and lovely atmosphere. The drinks were delicious especially the pineapple margarita. I didn’t like the shrimp buns because they were a bit too sweet but the cold cucumbers were delicious and nicely balanced. The chicken ramen was good and the gyozas were so delicious. We utilized paid street parking and we did not have a reservation so we did have to sit at the bar.
An updated review from 2 months ago when there was no gluten-free Ramen bowl option! Oh my goodness! The GF ramen bowl has indeed made its way onto the menu, and it’s absolutely delightful! The flavors are simply fantastic. I’ve shared some pictures of our meals. The first picture on the left shows the GF bowl with added chicken, and the first picture on the right shows the pork belly bowl. The second picture shows the GF bowl, and the last picture shows chef Liem in action, creating culinary magic. Courtney, our gracious and fun host, was incredibly kind and eager to show us all that Shiki has to offer. She and Shiki’s Assistant General Manager were so welcoming and attentive. It was a perfect after-church Sunday lunch on a snowy and beautiful day in Minnesota. I can’t wait to return to
Being a "ramen head," i always rejoice when I hear a new ramen spot opened. Shiki Noods specializes in chintan or clear broths ramen, which is pretty rare in Minnesota. Only a few does it right too. I had the Shoyu Ramen. Pork broth with dashi (a seaweed broth usually with fish that is used in many japanese dishes), seasoned with shoyu/soy (its a special seasoned soy, not just a basic soy), and wavy noodles. This shoyu ramen is legit. It reminds me of the old school Tokyo shoyu ramen in Japan. Nice, comforting, flavorful, and simple (you can taste the simple pork, dashi, and soy). If you ever wonder how old school Tokyo shoyu ramen tastes like in Japan, this bowl is a decent representation. I also had their chicken meat ball skewers, and pan fried pork buns. Both were solid.
