Such a beautiful spot! The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing, and the food completely exceeded our expectations. I had the spicy miso ramen combo that came with your choice of appetizer, I got the steamed gyoza, and my husband tried the Sequoia Deluxe — both dishes were full of flavor, and the fish was so fresh. The presentation was gorgeous too! If you are sushi lovers I definitely recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back again soon.
I was in town taking care of family and needed a bite to eat. As I walked down the street, I saw Sequoia and decided some ramen was in order! I was greeted and seated right away and was given the menu, from which I chose the Ramen Combo with Seaweed Salad and Sequoia Ramen. The salad came out first and was a pleasant surprise. The salad itself was your pretty standard leafy greens, but they put the seaweed on top and it really made the salad pop. Don't know how that works, but it did. The ramen came next and was a decent lunch-size portion. The broth was tasty and the pork belly was a tasty addition. Overall, whenever I come back to Madison, I will probably be back!
You can tell it used to be, probably an Irish pub by the design of the wood bar and overall layout. Now it has a fair selection (I don't know much about Sake or Japanese whiskey.) of Japanese spirits sitting on a classic Pub bar layout. The happy hour has good deals like the Gyoza. It was delicious. Spicy but not too spicy. Will be going back.
Great place, the waitresses are nice, and the sushi is really good. The ingredients are fresh. What I notice about this place is that the interior decoration is very pleasant, has great personality without being in your face, and the food also is usually very pretty, and neat. It really isn't that inventive or insanely flavorful, but you get a good deal as far as price. It is a little bit overpriced considering the portion sizes. I would say it's main draw is the aesthetics of everything. It's strongest point is definitely aesthetics, but I'm not going to knock the taste. I had the ramen, and it was pretty good. The noodles were the weak point of the ramen, everything else I cannot remember. The sushi is really delicious, I can't remember what exactly I ordered I just always enjoy it. I
Wow! Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was spectacular! Our incredibly kind server even brought out some celebratory ice cream when she saw we were celebrating our son’s birthday. So kind
