It's rare to find authentic Japanese food in the states, let alone in a small town like Stanwood. I lived in Japan for three years so I am always looking for places that do actual, real Japanese cuisine. I've tried nearly every item on the menu and it is all consistently excellent. My favorite is the beef croquette lunch plate. The croquettes are seasoned well and you get a delicious savory sauce to pour on them not to mention the yummy macaroni salad and veggies. You also can't go wrong with their beef curry or the Japanese traditional breakfast, both excellent. I love that they include dishes like Omurice and Donburi, staples in Japan that you just don't find often in America. The owners are always friendly and the service is top notch, just like service in Japan! Please support this loc

This place is so cute! The food was tasty and it was nice to see Japanese food that isn't sushi in the area. The staff were very kind and actually speak Japanese, so win. I really enjoyed my omurice. It was quiet and clean and I felt welcome to stay and enjoy my tea.

This place is most definitely a hidden gem. First off, the owners are very friendly and welcoming. And the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the pork Katsu don, and my fiance ordered the fried chicken curry, and we both got a spam musubi to go. Everything was delicious (and I'm picky about Japanese food & Hawaiian food). I highly recommend this place and am adding it into the regular rotation of places to eat out at!

The atmosphere was calming and quiet—perfect for anyone who prefers to enjoy their meal without the noise and crowd of busy places. I had the traditional Japanese breakfast and the pork cutlet bento, and both were absolutely amazing. The flavors were fresh, balanced, and comforting—just like a meal you’d find in Japan. The presentation was beautiful too, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Our server was incredibly kind and respectful, providing thoughtful service without being intrusive. You can tell they truly care about hospitality here. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine and a relaxing dining experience!
