Scalawags Whitefish & Chips (MI-103)

Ordered Lake perch and White fish to go. The wedge potatoes were just ok. Cole Slaw was not tasty. Perch was fried to a golden brown and white fish was ok. Neither fish had any type of seasoning. The house made tartar sauce was not very good. I will go again and try a different dish.

Scalawags Mackinaw City is my favorite restaurant. I was cautiously excited about the new location, and it did not disappoint! Best whitefish period. Less than 5 mi from home, so we will be there often!!

All the food is fresh and so delicious. The price is reasonable for the amount/big portions you get. Definitely recommend anyone who hasn't had them to try it. Staff is all professional. We are definitely going to be eating here more.

First time ordering from this location. I ordered a white fish sandwich and fish tacos with wedges, onion rings (which cost extra) and a pickle. The online order said 20 minute wait. We arrive after 20 minutes and the order has been ready and sitting for at least 10 minutes making everything soggy (which is fine, our bad). We take the order to the car and open the boxes up. No onion rings in either of them. No problem just go back in and ask for them. The issue arose when the cashier goes to the back to tell the cook about it and one of the other employees calls me a liar and says that I'm just trying to get free food. I paid for the onion rings. I brought my receipt in. We hadn't even left the parking lot. I even offered to bring the boxes back in to show them. The guy just stared at me l

Many people at work said it was not good, but wanted to make sure it was not just they have a different interpretation of good. I Love fish and I have had food from the location up north and loved it. This, not so much. I tried the whitefish meal, fish was greasy and the coating, not impressive at all. Wedges were soggy. To be fair I returned the next day to try the chicken and onion Rings with my friends from work, 6 of us. The chicken sandwich was just their chicken tenders, run of the mill flavor, nothing to write home to mom about. They messed up the order sent wedges instead of o-rings, charged for the rings. Out of six people eating, only one says they will return. Overall, not like the one up north!! Talking with many people at the large employer down the street, like them, won’t be
