Interesting place. Strong veggie options. Make sure you tell them to give you veggie broth and you’re all set. They mix them all with pork broth so make sure you let them know not to. Wound up costing less than i expected. Interesting concept. Never had it before. Would go again and fine tune my choices.
As you can see I basically live here lol. I love how there’s such a wide variety of things to choose from, and everything tastes phenomenal! It’s also perfect if you want to go by yourself. Super casual and comforting and the staff is very friendly. If I had to recommend a broth, it would 100% be the Szechuan sauce. I’m literally obsessed.
I’m so so so excited that there is a dry pot / hot pot place in the area!!! The gentrification of dry pot with Mala Project is too real - this restaurant supposedly has tons of locations in China. It’s priced at $17.99 a pound ($3.99 per 100 grams) and you get to pick whatever you want into a bowl and then chose your broth, and they cook it for you. I’m very pleasantly surprised at the diversity of the offerings - many kinds of beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, tripe, chicken feet, quail egg, 3 kinds of mushrooms, veggies, tofu, and stuff I wouldn’t even normally get but the options are amazing. I got a dry broth less option this time, with mild spice I was able to chose. It was delicious and they ask you if you want white rice or not. It was so so so good, and mine weighed just about a pound
I visited SANKU MAOTS’AI 三顾冒菜 in East Village and really enjoyed it! It’s a self-service hotpot where you can choose your own toppings, meats, and broth, then they cook everything for you. I love the concept. you can pick as much as you want, and the price is based on the weight. There’s also a sauce station where you can mix and match your own dipping sauce, or follow their recipe suggestions. The place is new, clean, and perfect when you want to enjoy hotpot individually. I’ll definitely come back
Went with my friend for the first time. Everyone was so nice/clean and the food was amazing. 10/10 would come again, food came quick fast and played great music. ❤️
