Sam's Place & Diner

I went here for the first time today and called ahead of time to get takeout. On the phone the lady taking my order said that a cheeseburger was $7.50 and that it included potato chips for free unless I wanted to add fries then it would be an additional $3.00. I was ordering food for my girlfriend so I decided we should both get fries too. I asked for the total and the waitress said $21.75. I left the restaurant only to see that I didn't get any fries. I was confused so I went back inside believing that a mistake may have been made. The manager then told me that because I asked for pickles, lettuce and a single tomato slice it was an additional $2.25. I left after that and after getting home and trying my burger I found out that it was a total waste of money as it wasn't anything special b

We were tourists in town and were pleasantly surprised. We found our meal to be good tasting at a great value. Service was prompt and friendly. There was only one surprise. When we received our dinner check tax was already a day figured in but when we handled the bill at the register it was higher. Their credit card processor charges a fee and that was automaticaly being passed on to us. I would have like to know that before hand otherwise I would have paid cash. Once again, overall, great experience and good food.

Very much a hometown cafe. Very attractive & clean. Value is very good with many, many, many entrees under $10.⁰⁰. Menu photos as of July 2024. I very rarely give 5 stars. This cafe really deserves it. I would definitely come back. Breakfast served all day except Friday. Bathrooms are large, clean, and HC accessible.

Driving through on 64 and stopped for lunch. Very nice folks working there. Not sure how they manage such a huge menu, but they do and they do it well. Wife had grilled cheese with a tomato and the garlic chive fries. Excellent. I had a pork steak, smothered in gravy with dumplings and sauerkraut. It was so, so good! Prices are very low too, Going to eat here every time I’m nearby.

I'll echo another person -- great food, friendly staff, great service. Excellent and reasonably priced breakfast.
