Sam'L Hawaiian BBQ

If you’re craving some island eats or want to try something new, this place is a great fast casual spot for take out or quick dine-in! The food is excellent! I recommend the kalbi short ribs and katsu! Also, the loco moco and island fries are delicious!

I had my husband pick up our meals last night and he was telling how nice the Auntie was at this place. She was also super sweet over the phone when I placed the orders for myself and my kiddos. He noticed the place was extremely clean. Auntie made sure to show him every meal inside the boxes. The flavor was great, nice grill marks on our Kalbi short ribs and the side of teriyaki sauce was great . Will only order Hawaii from here!

This place is amazing! Tried the BBQ chicken both times, also got the pork the first time. The musubi is also delicious! The chicken is cooked fresh when you order, it was super tender. Please support this place. UPDATE: I have been going to Sam'l every Friday or Thursday for the past 8 weeks. This is literally the best Hawaiian bbq spot I've been to in the Sacramento area. The employees are amazing and super nice. We love seeing the same people every time we go. I've taken my entire family, and all my friends. We all love Sam'l. Please go and support local businesses like this. We need more places like this. The value is worth the price. My nephew LOOOOVES their musubi!

This Hawaiian spot deserves more recognition. The service was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, clearly passionate about the food. I tried the ahi poke and kalua pork sliders, and both were bursting with authentic flavor. The plating was as beautiful as the taste. The interior, with island murals and soft lighting, gave plenty of character for photos and atmosphere alike.

We recently tried Sam’l Hawaiian BBQ and were really impressed. I had the teriyaki chicken plate and my wife had the chicken katsu—both came with rice and macaroni salad. Everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the portions were generous enough that we had leftovers to enjoy later. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the place itself felt clean and comfortable. A great new spot we’ll definitely be back to.
