Salem Free Public Library

the building itself is awesome. Salem city has many old buildings with lot of history. not much funding for this library, unfortunately. the staff are very unfriendly, expressionless people. there is an hour time limit on the computer even if you happen to be the only soul in the building or doing important school work to try and better yourself.

My daughter and I have had great experiences with the library and the library staff they are helpful and knowledgeable!!!

Isnt there a minus star rating?!?! This is the most unfriendly cold library ever, unfortunately I dont drive and have to go here alot. And there literally are noooo programs for children or anyone for that matter. It really is a shame Salem needs all the programs it can get to help the residents. A few times I have been friendly as can be and still was treated witb complete negative attitude, and God forbid dont try to have a sense of humor unless you want to be hissed at like a snake!! Sad really sad 😢

Out dated books, poor customer service, and no community programs or resources. The librarians there have no shame in not doing their Jobs. Everything is based on time. They close for lunch in the middle of the day for and hour... They only allow an hours time to use computers. An they check on readers, browsers and students that come to study every 10minute like clock work. Just to see when they will be leaving...

How can a library NOT have a website? Just one page telling you a little of the history and their hours (which they are closed for lunch?? How hard is it to work in a library??) is not a website. Go to Pennsville for their library instead. They know what they are doing over there and have a VERY friendly staff.
