When I first moved to Salado in 1999, I was in the military and didn't feel particularly connected to the local area and people. However, I read so many interesting stories about the people, the businesses, the schools and the community, that I ended up deciding to not only stay in Salado, but I also opened a business and continued reading the weekly paper and buying ads. Let me tell you, don't be fooled by the rumors on social media, get the real news. The family that owns the local paper maintains the highest standards in reporting the good and the bad.
