S & S Donut & Bake Shop - Newhall (Sierra Hwy)

No bagel sandwiches (cold or hot) on a Monday at 11 am. The only bagel option was a toasted bagel (plain or everything) with a plastic to-go ramekin of cream cheese and a plastic knife. Had to stop at the coffee creamer station on the way out to spread the cream cheese on the bagel without a plate or anything, just using a napkin. Not sure how I was intended to do it. I wasn't asked whether it was to go or dine in. The bagel appeared to be from a plastic bag, not freshly baked. Apple fritter was rich and big the other doughnuts were fine, identical to other s&s location, everything brought in from elsewhere, not baked on site.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted kindly and fast. There was no wait time and this donut shop was very clean. The donuts were fresh and bagel was also fresh. The prices are great. Highly recommend to for a quick stop and quick breakfast on the go. They do have a good variety of your regular donuts and only 2 types of bagels. Which if they made more bagels would be better. But all in all good donut shop.

There are many bakeries to chose from and so many places around to buy sweets. Forget the plastic wrapped goods you find everywhere. If you really desire a wonderful treat, a visit to this particular S&S shop (on Sierra Highway) is a must. You will find something irresistible for you and each of your family members that will keep you coming back. The owners demonstrate what a means to care about one's business. They have so many dedicated customers, like us, who return time and again to enjoy the incredible baked goods they put forth every single day.

Been going to this location for years. Sad that new owners are skimping on ingredients. The maple on maple bars is barely there. Thought this was a one off, but it’s a regular. Sad way to save money. Need to find a new donut shop.

This place has some really good doughnuts. You can eat three and not feel like you ate a grease ball, a soft, stretchy and just slightly chewy inside with a perfect light golden outside that had a slight crunch to it. I will deffinately come here again.
